Map the System is a global competition that asks students and educators to rethink social and environmental issues through systems thinking – going beyond disciplines and questioning deeply held assumptions. It aims to bridge the gap between student-as-learner and student-as-changemaker.

If you are a TRU student, you may compete in the local competition held in the spring. You do not need to be a student in a particular dicipline or course. The winning team will be sent to the national competition, which is the gateway to competiting in the global competition in Oxford, UK in the summer of 2025.

Registration for the 2025 Map the System competition is now closed. If you want to participate next year, or be invited to events related to Map the System, such as information sessions, watch parties and coaching sessions, or the final event, please sign up for our mailing list – so that you don’t have to rely on the whims of a social media algorithm for invitations to things on campus.
